I think nowadays it’s important to know what’s in your food and water so this is a must. The things they’re allowing to be put in our food and water are insane. This is easy to use and read. Great value. Works well. Good size, not bulky like others. I’m sure there are more expensive accurate ones but this one does its job. Makes me feel better testing my water to see which one is best, especially bottled water & my sink water. I highly highly recommend.

The TDS meter is inexpensive and easy to use. It gives you one more tool in our pursuit of a happy healthy aquarium for our pet's. The more information you have the better choices you make. Everything we do effects the water chemistry. I'm very glad that I purchased the meter and I suggest that other aquarist purchase one as well. We can never have too much information.

I think it is working well, but don't have anything to verify it's readings are accurate. My tap water TDS was around 250, I bought a countertop Reverse Osmosis machine and the water from the machine read around 70, purchased purified water read around 32 and purchased distilled water read around 10. Note: I found out a LOT about countertop Reverse Osmosis machines and although they may claim to reduce TDS by about 95%, that is under ideal conditions and they only measure the final few ounces when they will fill up a 32oz carafe. The initial output from the machine will have higher calcium and other impurities that seep through the RO filter when not in continuous use, thus they discard most of the water initially filtered.

This was super easy to use and read! We have had some issues with our water and prior to going out and ordering an expensive test, I wanted some base line information. This worked instantly when put into water, and came with easy to follow instructions for use. If you're concerned about what's going on with your water, I recommend getting one of these to take a step towards getting informed and keeping yourself healthy.

not what i expected. I tested my water 4 different ways. tap water, filtered water, bottled spring water and spring water i get from an actual open spring. the best one was the bottled spring water, which i have a hard time believing as that sits in a plastic bottle for how long. So I don't feel this is very accurate. my spring water from the actual spring was really high on the charts. This is the water I drink all the time and i'm fine.

At first, I decided to test my home water, since I have a home filtration system. The level showed 591ppm, and the EPA listing shows anything above 500ppm as un-pure water. This made me question my filtration system, or, the tester itself. I decided to test the water from my refrigerator water (through an additional filter), and it showed 555ppm. Still, a lot, so is it the tester? I then decided to test a bottle of Costco water, and it came up with 25ppm, a huge difference. I then tested machine purified water from one of those water machines outside of grocery stores, and it came up with 10ppm. This made me believe that the tester making those high variations in value, must be pretty accurate. It also makes me question my filtration system, if it's even working at all. This is a nice, small, easy to use testing unit. You just put a small amount of water in a cup, and dip the tip in, and leave it in for a few seconds to level off. The backlit screen will show green, anything 0-50ppm, if the water is pure, and will show red if the water is not (500ppm+).

Bought with the description of newest version (2024) but disappointed with the usability and quality. no scale printed on device, so you have to remember what a good number is. Doesn't come with LR44x2 battery, so you will need to purchase it separately.

I purchased this for my travel, its super small, place it in your suitcase, the probe is easy to clean and seems pretty accurate. You can see if your water filter is actually working or not. This does a great job testing the water hardness and drinkability level. There is a chart on the back of the device and the LED display is bright and easy to read (ppm) is parts per million btw. It's interesting testing distilled beverages to see how pure they are compared to water. In any case if you want to make sure water is as clean as possible this digital tester does it.
