Most index card boxes are so small that if you have a lot of cards you can't look through them because they are packed in. This box is big enough to fit many index cards and still be able to flip through them. I am so glad I found them!!!

These boxes are definitely not 4x6, the index cards are loose and not snug, not ideal for storage

Doesn't hold 500 cards and if you fill it too much, can't close the lid... When less empty and cards are leaning, no problem, but when full and cards are fully upright, won't close. Returned

I got these to store and organize my nail stamping plates.The boxes arrived in perfect condition. They are completely clear and the lid is held on by the arms on the sides that snap up and down. The lid comes off entirely - it is not hinged - which just means there's one less thing to break over time.The boxes are sturdy (important because stamping plates are heavy) and can hold a lot of plates. Now all I need are some divider tabs and I'll be all set. And I have a whole second box waiting to be filled as well!

I am using these boxes to store my seed packets. They are the perfect size. I do keep them indoors so moisture is not an issue. I bought index tabs for the months and I file the seeds under the month I should start them. This helps me get organized for my warm and cold crop plantings. I just make a note which seeds are direct sow and which I can start in trays. They are just transparent enough for me to read a card I put in front telling me which box it is. They are handy and secure so that if I knock them over, all of the packets don't spill out. I bought separate ones for herbs and flowers too. I find this a better method than to file them by name. Separate boxes for warm vegetables, cold vegetables, flowers and herbs and filed uner the month to start rather than alphabetical by name. Works for me.. Your mileage may vary.

I am using the 3x5 size and the 4x6 size for flashcards and small manipulatives for my kids for school. They are sturdy, which is saying a lot, considering one of my kids breaks *everything.* The 4x6 fits my 3-sided triangle flashcards, as well. They stack easily, the kids can easily work the latches without frustration, and they do not tip once filled. These are fantastic!I am disappointed the 4x6 are no longer in stock. I want more! Getting 2 more sets of the 3x5 size for sure.

This is a good product, however, I only gave it 4 stars because it stated that each box would fit 500 4x6 cards but not entirely sure it would have. I had 300 3x5 sturdy laminated study cards and although they did fit, rather tightly, it was difficult to pull one or even several out at a time. Using both boxes to hold all of my cards gave me room to flip through them and pull out the sections of study cards I was using. The boxes look great, stack nicely and are very durable. I would recommend this product.
