I think it's putting out over 20,000 volts there was a screw missing but the price was great

I used a piece of electrical tape to isolate the transformer from the rest of the circuit. I had it on its thin side like a wall. I turned the power on to test my work. Every thing seemed good until the transformer shorted out. Same thing happened to the second one.I can only see this working if it is submerged in mineral oil before it sees any power.It does work and havinga certain knowledge is alluded to. If you are looking to learn anything about circuit boards or step up transformers this isn't the kit you want. Im
