You can't go wrong For the Price. We've never had one break and they meet the standard of quality that they are supposed to. I read where some people gave low reviews based on the level of difficulty removing and installing blades onto the scalpel AND they said they are not Sharp. That is very sad because we use these every day and order apprx 200 a month and I can attest that these couldn't be easier if you know how blades are supposed to be applied and removed. We use a small tool similar to needle nose pliers. When holding the blades with the pliers, your fingers are never in the way and more importantly, it's a snap removing and reapplying blades. As for not being sharp? They are perfectly sharp right out of the package and stay sharp, depending on what you're doing with it. You MIGHT need to use an extra blade here and there because they don't stay sharp enough with constant daily use, but let's face it.... 9 out of 10 times I am able to complete 2 to 3 hours of constant use without needing a 2nd blade.

Purchased two boxes of the blades there standard and work fine, but for the free handles well neither one works on these blades. Just glad I already had a handle.

A lot of students try to do a whole dissection with one blade which after much research I found is kind of silly. After my first Bio Class I did some research and I bought 100 blades for my BIO 102, and Anatomy and Physiology classes. Multiple blades made dissection much easier and more productive. That being said I felt like these blades could have been a little sharper, but they were good for the price.

This is my second handle. I paid $20 for a handle at a Pharmacy. I had free blades. When my source of free blades went dry, I paid 25 cent per blade at different Pharmacy. When I bought this product I was looking for blades but having a second handle was great.

So first a little background: I purchase these to treat skin tags at home. That means I'm cutting through skin with them, although not deeply. It does matter that they are extremely sharp so they heal cleanly. In any case, these are great blades: - #20 shape. Scalpel blades use #s to indicate the shape of the blade. There are a bunch of different shapes. - Super sharp. I'm able to use them to cleanly cut through a skin tag with no pain (until a little bit later, of course). - Nice free handle. The blades snap onto the handle firmly.I'd buy these blades again in a heart beat.
